about

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Christian Welfare Society is called to serve those parents who take to heart the command of the Lord in Deuteronomy 6:6-7 above. We seek to come alongside families who have a deep commitment to Jesus Christ and a devotion to His ways. Therefore, for consideration for participation in CWS scholarship program, there are spiritual, academic and behavioral standards.

Spiritually

CWS scholarship is basically a covenant scholarship, meaning that at least one parent in the family must have received Jesus Christ as their Savior and be devoted to following Him. In addition, we expect families to uphold the following biblical standards:

  •  Instruct children in the Christian faith at home. (Deuteronomy 6:6–7)

  • Accompany his or her children faithfully to church. not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.  (Hebrews 10:25)

  • Willingly co-labor with the CWS in the education and edification of their children. “Do two walk together, unless they have agreed to meet?  (Amos 3:3)

Academically

CWS requires prospective students to demonstrate 60% completion marks in report cards. Academic achievements as reflected by grades on previous report cards is another variable considered in the admissions process.

Behaviorally

We recognize that fruitful ministry requires a receiving heart and that this requirement rests within the student and family. We seek students who behave consistently with our mission to make disciples and socially exhibit biblical moral character, responsibility, and self-control.  As a student matures, we look increasingly to that student’s relationship with the Lord as we perform admission to the program and annual re enrollment reviews.

Additionally, as the primary educators of children, parents need to be committed to effective co-laboring. This is demonstrated by parents who:

  • Participate in CWS activities and events

  • Communicate effectively with CWS counselors

  • Abide by school rules and policies

What We Believe

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.

  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by who's indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
